Terrific post, Anton. I was struck by your mention of all the polyrhythms in a stream, coalescing. One of my favorite activities when sitting by a stream (or any rushing water for that matter) is to try and isolate a specific sound within the great rush of sound. If, for example, I'm looking at rapids, I'll identify a particular little eddy or cascade, and looking intensely at it (looking helps) try to hear the sound that's coming from that specific location. It's amazing how one can hone in (cupping ears with hands helps enormously). In any event—you always fascinate. Thanks!
